At Rijk Zwaan we are looking for ambitious, proactive people who are keen to develop themselves in breeding. As a selector you assist breeding in generating varieties, creating and selecting the parental lines and testing trial hybrids. As you are the local contact point, you are responsible for the proper execution of these activities, also within the team. This job therefore needs high organisational skills and a continuous drive to improvements.
The job requires you to be in the field, greenhouse and office. The position will focus on the practical aspects of plant breeding, but also requires excellent communication and reporting skills in English. Within the position you will be able to grow your responsibilities for the local breeding activities, in direct collaboration with the breeding team in the Netherlands.
What we are looking for?
You have good planning and organising skills, both for your own activities, as for leading the team to make sure the activities are done. You are also a good team player and communicator, able to maintain the contacts in our international organisation. You are pro-active, entrepreneurial, willing to take initiatives, have an interest in discovering new things, able to solve problems and yet able to keep the focus. You are at good level in speaking and writing both in Turkish as well as in English.
You will also have the following on your CV:
- A MSc level in Agricultural/Genetic Engineer with high interest in plant breeding and genetics
- A current driving licence and willingness to travel along the country.
