What does your job as Ambitious Global Seed Production Specialist at Rijk Zwaan look like?
Within this role, you will be responsible for directing the production of seeds of various vegetable crops.
All over the world, vegetable seeds are produced for Rijk Zwaan. The production department takes care of the process from planning to receiving these seed batches. All with the intention of achieving the highest possible quality at a good cost price. The department has many contacts with various departments and subsidiaries in the company and with producers national and international. Following production orders, you plan, organize and supervise the various seed productions at both national and international locations. Remotely and via regular trips abroad, you stay informed about the ins and outs of the crops. If necessary, you make adjustments by providing the producers with (technical) advice. You report and register all your findings in detail so that you can carry out quality and business analyses during and after the productions. You maintain good and regular contact with the (foreign) producers about the contract conditions, progress and quality of the productions. In addition, you will be responsible for:
- Evaluating production crops and making multi-year plans for production locations
- Researching opportunities for crop optimalisation
- Discuss and implement improvement measures
Your Contribution:
You are enterprising and enjoy working independently. You have good analytical skills, are an expert in sharp analyses and can approach issues from different angles. Furthermore, you work in a structured way and you have excellent communication skills. You are enthusiastic and driven to continuously improve our seed productions. You are persuasive and know how to get things done, without losing sight of the relationship. You are willing to travel abroad regularly (+- 10 travel weeks per year). In addition we can find the following on your CV:
- A master degree in an agriculture direction, such as Garden & Arable Farming or Plant Sciences / Agronomy
- You have experience with or interest in vegetable production
- Good command of the English language, both verbally and in writing

As a Global Seed Production Specialist, you will join the Fruit Crops production team. This team consists of around 25 specialists responsible for seed production.
