How does your internship at Rijk Zwaan look like?

As a part of a project team you will explore potential ways of breeding new varieties of crops. You will conduct germination tests with the aim to determine a protocol for extensive application in selection against a certain postharvest trait.  You will review respective literature and create a mechanistic network between physiological and biochemical components that are representatives of a certain postharvest disorder in the cabbage. Working in close connection with colleagues from breeding and biochemical department, you will conduct germination tests in media with certain biochemical compounds. You will test up to 18 genotypes. During the whole internship you will have all support from the colleagues as well as individual coaching. Based on the results of the project the internship can be expanded by additional experiments.
