What does your job as R&D Station Manager at Rijk Zwaan look like?

As R&D Station Manager within the breeding station in Japan, you fulfill an essential role in managing farming operation of fruit and leafy crops at the breeding station in Shibayama. Additionally, you are responsible for:

  • leading by example, being a good role model for team members;
  • short, mid and long term crop planning of the station;
  • investment planning together with the managing director;
  • helping team members to acquire skill and knowledge of crop maintenance;
  • mediating internal and external communications;
  • international collaboration of station managers.

Your contribution:

You have good communication skill and enjoy working together. You communicate in Japanese to work with local team on daily basis. Moreover, you are a manager who cares about team members and other colleagues. You also enjoy changes and dynamics in an international environment. In addition, we can find the following in your resume:

  • a completed Bachelor's degree in the field of Agricultural Science;
  • at least 10 years of relevant work experience;
  • at least medium level of English fluency;
  • knowledge of and experience with cultivation of fruit crops and leafy crops, testing of new variety, working with international colleagues.

As R&D Station Manager, you will be part of the subsidiary in Japan, Rijk Zwaan Breeding Japan K.K. in Shibayama.  

Rijk Zwaan Breeding Japan K.K. consists of 10 colleagues who work on breeding and demo trials of tomato and leafy crops. You will lead team of more than 10 full-time and part-time employees to execute daily crop maintenance.
