Product Development Specialist

How does your job as Product Development Specialist at Rijk Zwaan look like?

Rijk Zwaan is committed to develop its presence in the vegetable seed market and promote Rijk Zwaan varieties to growers, wholesalers and retailers in Thailand. We believe in getting the best possible varieties to growers and helping them to get the best yield and quality, while keeping in mind the requirements of the end-users.

Within this role you are responsible for maintaining the existing market share and for developing new opportunities at key growers and traders in the Thai market. Furthermore you are responsible for:

• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with the decision makers of these companies
• Giving cultivation advice to growers
• Introducing new varieties by organizing trials and events
• Maintaining a good communication line between customers and the country distributor 
• Determining and implementing a sales forecast
• Sharing information and co-operating with the other Rijk Zwaan Product Development Specialists and Account Managers across Southeast Asia.

Your contribution.

You are committed to provide a high service level to our customers and to maintain the ethics of the company. You have strong relational and analytical skills and you are pro-active in making suggestions for crop improvement. You take initiative easily and you have a commercial and client-centric approach. You are strongly intrinsically motivated and you like to work in a pragmatic and enthusiastic way. You have strong communication skills and you keep track of the latest developments in the horticultural industry. You are based in the northern part of Thailand and you are willing to travel locally and abroad. Also a valid driving license is crucial. You are an independent self-starter and you are fluent in Thai and English.

In addition, we find it important that you have the following on your CV:

• A bachelor degree in Agriculture Science
• At least 5 years’ relevant experience.

What can you expect from us?

As Product Development Specialist you will be part of the Rijk Zwaan team in Southeast Asia. This team develops an integrated crop and client strategy for the region and is well connected with relevant specialists in the global Rijk Zwaan organization. We are actively breeding new vegetable varieties for Southeast Asia in several crops and focus particularly, but not exclusively, on the protected crops and hydroponic markets. New varieties from the Rijk Zwaan breeding programs are distributed in Thailand through our well established commercial partners.
