Join Rijk Zwaan as a Breeding Manager and guide a team of 24 professionals in Spain and China, ving the development of watermelon, squash, bean, fennel, and pumpkin, driving the development of watermelon, squash, bean, fennel, and pumpkin varieties.
🌱 Your Role at Rijk Zwaan
As Breeding Manager, you will be responsible for the global strategy and direction of our cucurbit breeding programs. You will co-lead the department alongside another Breeding Manager, fostering a collaborative and people-focused culture. Your key responsibilities include:
- Managing the global portfolio of breeding and pre-breeding projects
- Promoting the adoption of innovative breeding techniques
- Visiting international breeding teams and R&D directors
- Staying informed on developments in intellectual property (IP)
- Collaborating across departments to align goals and resources
💬 What You Bring
We’re looking for a strategic leader with a passion for people development and innovation. You are structured, communicative, and thrive in a team-oriented environment. You bring:
- A Master’s degree or PhD in Plant Sciences
- At least 5 years of experience in plant breeding or breeding research
- Strong leadership and coaching skills
- Excellent command of English and Spanish
- Willingness to travel regularly
- Intercultural sensitivity and organizational acumen
