Your job at Rijk Zwaan
You will play a crucial role in investigating and advancing the field of biostatistical and genetic data analysis. This position entails developing innovative ideas and methodologies to address both new and existing research questions. Additionally, you will collaborate with colleagues to create analytical tools that facilitate the implementation of the acquired knowledge throughout the organization, thereby enhancing the impact of our findings. As part of your responsibilities, you will:
- Actively contribute to discussions on experimental designs and provide expert advice in this area
- Be responsible for analyzing results derived from experiments such as QTL mapping and GWAS.
- Communicate and present your findings effectively, in a concise and comprehensible manner.

As a Researcher Biostatistics, you will be a member of the department of Biostatistics, a diverse and international team of people enthusiastic about statistics, genetics and biostatistical data analysis in general. Every day we are putting our statistical knowledge into practice for breeding by analyzing data and by collaborating closely with our colleagues in other R&D departments.
Your contribution:
You are a team player who uses his or her analytical skills and creativity to find solutions. You like to take the initiative, and you dare to be critical. You have a keen interest in plant breeding, statistical genetics and trait inheritance. You enjoy helping colleagues with setting up experiments and analyzing the data gathered therein. You like modelling and scripting and are looking for a dynamic working environment. You like to work in an interdisciplinary environment, and your communication skills enable you to easily interact with others within and outside the company. In addition, we can find the following on your CV:
- a university background in plant or animal breeding, molecular biology, or statistics
- experience in biostatistical research in its broadest sense, preferably during a PhD study
- experience with coding in R
- proficiency in English
