What will be your role as Selector Lettuce at Rijk Zwaan?

As a Selector Lettuce, you will play an important role in supporting our breeding programs by contributing to the development of new lettuce varieties. You will work closely with breeders, helping to evaluate and select promising materials, organize and monitor trials, and ensure accurate observations and reporting throughout the breeding process. 

In this role, you will act as a key support and backup for the Lettuce Breeding team, particularly Brazil and Japan projects. You will also support additional breeding initiatives and trials, helping breeders make informed decisions on future projects and variety development.

What we expect from you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Plant Sciences, Biology, or a related field. 
  • 0 to 3 years of professional experience, or a recent graduate with a strong interest in plant breeding. 
  • Fluent English is mandatory. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Independent and proactive working style. 
  • Practical mindset with a supportive and collaborative attitude. 
  • Ability to make observations, analyze results, and support technical decision-making. 
  • Willingness to travel and participate in training activities when required.

About Rijk Zwaan:

You will become part of our R&D team at our Research Station in Mogi Mirim. Rijk Zwaan Brazil was founded in 2011, with its administrative office based in Mogi Mirim, São Paulo. It also operates two experimental fields: one in the same city and another in Mossoro, Rio Grande do Norte. Even before its official establishment, we already had partners working to develop our products — in other words, Rijk Zwaan seeds have been present in Brazil for over 15 years.
